    List of Ingredients


    • chicken
    • 2 1/2 cup flour
    • 3 Tbs. shortening
    • water


    Instructions


    1. Boil chicken with bone in. Remove bone and save chicken broth.
    2. Put broth in a pan (at least 2 quarts). Put in salt, pepper, and some butter.
    3. Bring to a fast boil (you will drop dumplings into this).
    4. Mix flour and shortening (chop in) in a bowl.
    5. Add water. Stir until flour mixture is workable.
    6. Let set a few minutes.
    7. Roll out until about 1/8 inch in thickness.
    8. Cut into strips and drop into boiling broth.
    9. Stir gently.
    10. Cook about 15 minutes.
    11. It's better if it cools a few minutes before serving.
