    Ice Box Cookies

    Helen Abdnor- Billy's grandmother (submitted by Barbara Duncan- Billy's aunt)


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups butter
    • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1 Tbsp. molasses
    • 1 tsp. soda
    • 2 cups chopped pecans
    • 1 1/4 cup white sugar
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 5 1/2 cups flour


    Instructions


    1. Mix all ingredients well.
    2. Divide into 4 or more pieces.
    3. Roll each piece into a long roll approximately 2 inches in diameter.
    4. Put in refrigerator until firm.
    5. Slice approximately 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick.
    6. Slice only the number of cookies you want to cook.
    7. Place on cookie sheet approximately 1 inch apart.
    8. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-7 minutes.
    9. Serve warm or cold.


    Final Comments


    Dough will keep in the refrigerator for several weeks.
