Recipe Introduction
April's Aunt Kay made these when she was in high school. She wrote "good" by the recipe.
List of Ingredients
- 1 cup soft shortening
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 3/4 cup sifted flour
- 2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. sugar- for rolling dough in
- 4 tsp. cinnamon- for rolling dough in
Instructions
- Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs thoroughly.
- Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Stir into above mixture.
- Form dough into balls about the size of walnuts.
- Roll in mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
- Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
