    Homemade Banana Pudding

    List of Ingredients


    • 3 egg yolks
    • 2 cups milk
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1/4 tsp. salt
    • 1/3 cup flour
    • vanilla wafers
    • bananas
    • vanilla
    • Meringue ingredients:
    • 3 egg whites
    • 1 tsp. cornstarch
    • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar


    Instructions


    1. Line bottom and sides of 2 quart casserole dish with vanilla wafers and sliced bananas.
    2. In top of double broiler, beat egg yolks.
    3. Add milk.
    4. Mix thoroughly.
    5. Combine sugar, salt, and flour. Add to liquid and mix well.
    6. Place over boiling water and cook until pudding thickens, stirring constantly.
    7. Add vanilla.
    8. Pour over vanilla wafers and bananas.
    9. You can make a second layer of vanilla wafers and bananas if desired.
    10. Let cool.
    11. Meringue directions:
    12. Beat meringue ingredients together at high speed until stiff peaks form.
    13. Pour on top of cooled pudding.
    14. Bake until light golden brown.
