Homemade Banana Pudding

List of Ingredients
- 3 egg yolks
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/3 cup flour
- vanilla wafers
- bananas
- vanilla
- Meringue ingredients:
- 3 egg whites
- 1 tsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Instructions
- Line bottom and sides of 2 quart casserole dish with vanilla wafers and sliced bananas.
- In top of double broiler, beat egg yolks.
- Add milk.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Combine sugar, salt, and flour. Add to liquid and mix well.
- Place over boiling water and cook until pudding thickens, stirring constantly.
- Add vanilla.
- Pour over vanilla wafers and bananas.
- You can make a second layer of vanilla wafers and bananas if desired.
- Let cool.
- Meringue directions:
- Beat meringue ingredients together at high speed until stiff peaks form.
- Pour on top of cooled pudding.
- Bake until light golden brown.
