    Cherry Upside Down Cake

    Pillsbury Cake Mix

    List of Ingredients


    • Topping:
    • 1/2 C. firmly packed brown sugar
    • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    • 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
    • Cake:
    • 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
    • 1 C. water
    • 1/3 C. oil
    • 3 eggs


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350 deg. Lightly grease 13x9 pan.

    2. Place brown sugar and margarine in bottom of pan.

    3. Place pan in oven for 4 to 5 minutes or until margarine is melted. Stir to blend.

    4. Spoon cherry pie filling evenly over brown sugar mixture.

    5. In large bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil and eggs at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes on high.

    6. Pour batter evenly over cherry pie filling.

    7. Bake at 350 deg. for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick tests clean.

    8. Run knife around edge of cake to loosen. Immediately invert onto serving tray.

    9. Cool completely.

    10. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.

    11. Makes 12 to 16 servings.
