    I always make this stuffing for Thanksgiving. I make it in the morning and put it in a foil packet. Then while the turkey is sitting for a half-hour before carving, I put the packet in the oven at 350 deg. to re-heat.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 C. thinly sliced celery
    • 1/8 C. chopped onion
    • 1/2 C. sliced mushrooms
    • 1/2 C. butter
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 3/4 tsp oregano
    • 1/2 tsp. thyme
    • 3/4 tsp. rosemary
    • 5 C. dry bread cubes
    • 1 C. boiling water


    Instructions


    1. Saute vegetables in butter.
    2. Stir in seasonings and bread cubes.
    3. Pour boiling water over all, toss with fork to combine.
    4. Turn off heat and cover. Let stand 5 minutes. Toss again.


    Final Comments


    I also make the mashed potatoes ahead of time and put them in a foil packet to heat with the stuffing. This way the pots & pans are already clean and put away.
