    List of Ingredients




    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 large onion, chopped
    4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
    4 large carrots, grated
    1/2 small head cabbage
    1/4 cup uncooked long grain rice
    1 qt. water
    1 can (28 oz.) diced tomatoes
    1 can (8 oz.) no-salt-added tomato sauce
    1 can (15 to 16 oz.) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
    2 bay leaves
    1 tsp. dried basil
    1 tsp. dried thyme
    3/4 tsp. pepper

    Recipe



    In a Dutch oven or soup kettle, brown meat and onion; drain. Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat simmer, uncovered, for 2-3 hours. Remove bay leaves before serving.
