1/2 pounds extra lean ground beef
2 cups chopped onion
3 cloves garlic -- minced
Add
2 cans green chiles
58 ounces tomato sauce
14 ounces beef broth
1 tablespoon chili powder -- or to taste
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon cumin -- or to taste
3 teaspoons oregano
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper -- optional
1/2 teaspoon sugar {Splenda for CORE}
56 ounces Pinto beans, canned -- undrained Recipe
Pam spray a large skillet or Dutch Oven, add the gound beef,saute until browned, drain.
Add the onion onion & garlic to the ground beef ; saute until the onions are translucent, about 15 minutes.
Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil then turn to simmer.Cook uncovered for about an hour{maybe more depending on how thick you like your chili}
Serve topped with sour cream and shredded Monterey Jack or cheddar cheese and a large green salad. Add on extra Points.
