    Italian Style Bread

    Recipe Introduction


    This recipe makes two loaves of bread. They may be cooked and frozen for future use.

    You will want to start this bread about 3 1/2 hours ahead of your meal.

    List of Ingredients




    1 1/2 cups warm water
    2 tablespoons butter, softened
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    4 1/2 cups bread flour
    1 tablespoon sugar
    2 teaspoons salt
    2 tablespoons yeast

    Recipe



    Place all ingredients in bread machine in above order. Rest for 10 minutes and use the dough only cycle.

    Remove dough from machine and punch. Divide into 6 equal pieces and cover with a towel. Rest 10 minutes.

    Make each pies a 12" long rope. 3 for each loaf of bread. Braid and secure ends.

    Place on greased baking sheets. Cover with towel. Let rise until doubled (about 30 to 45 minutes.

    Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds (about 1/4 cup). Bake in a 400 degree preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
