    You can use pumpkin or for a delightful new twist, persimmons in this recipe.

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup oil
    3 cups white sugar
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 teaspoonsalt
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    2 teaspoons baking soda
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon nutmeg
    2/3 cup water
    2 cups pumpkin (or persimmon)
    3 1/3 cups flour
    Nuts for garnish (optional)
    White confectioners sugar icing (optional

    Recipe



    Combine all ingredients except nuts and icing, mix well. Grease and flour 2 regular bread pans and pour batter equally into each. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in loaf.

    If desired, after bread is done, coat with a white confectioners sugar icing and top with nuts.
