Hearty Beef and Onion Stew

List of Ingredients
- 1-1/4 Pounds lean beef chunks
- 1/4 Cup olive oil
- 2 Cups sliced onions or 2 cups small pearl onions, peeled
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1--2 inch piece of cinnamon stick
- 1-1/3 cups dry red wine, or same amount of apple juice
- 1- 8 ounce can tomato sauce
- 2-3 Bay leaves
Instructions
- Put some flour into a baggie and place
the beef chunks in and shake to cover.
- Brown meat in skillet until. Remove
and set into a crockpot.
- Brown onions and garlic. Add these to
the crockpot.
- Add all other ingredients; stir well.
Set cooker to high until everything
gets hot.The lower temp to low. Simmer
for several hours until meat is very
tender and onions are cooked.
- Serves 4
Serve with a crusty bread and enjoy.
