FLAT APPLE PIE
1 ½ CUP FLOUR
1 CUP SHORTENING
1 ½ TBLSP SUGAR
1 TSP SALT
MIX LIKE PIECRUST.
PUT 1 EGG YOLK IN CUP, ADD ENOUGH MILK TO MAKE ½ CUP LIQUID. ADD TO FLOUR MIXTURE. MIX LIKE PIECRUST. ROLL OUT HALF OF DOUGH AND PUT ON LARGE COOKIE SHEET WITH SIDES.
PUT 2 HANDFULS OF CORN FLAKES OR RICE KRISPIES (CRUSHED) OVER THE DOUGH.
SLICE 3 CUPS OF APPLES. ADD 1 CUP OF SUGAR, 1-TSP CINNAMON AND PUT OVER DOUGH.
ROLL OUT REST OF DOUGH AND PUT ON TOP OVER APPLES.
BEAT 2 EGG WHITES UNTIL STIFF AND SPREAD OVER TOP OF CRUST.
BAKE 45 - 50 MINUTES AT 350 DEGREES.
MAKE A FROSTING OF:
1 ½ CUPS SUGAR
1 TSP BUTTER
VANILLA
SMALL AMOUNT OF HOT WATER
DRIBBLE OVER TOP OF PIE WHILE STILL WARM.
CUT IN SQUARES.
