½ TSP SALT
1 ¼ CUPS SIFTED FLOUR
¾ TSP BAKING POWDER
COMBINE TOGETHER:
½ CUP SOFT MARGARINE OR BUTTER
¾ CUP PACKED BROWN SUGAR
1 LARGE EGG
¼ CUP KAHLUA
1 CUP CHOCOLATE CHIPS
1/3 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS
1 TBLSP KAHLUA FOR TOP OF BAKED CAKES
BROWN SUGAR ICING 24 WALNUT HALVES
SIFT TOGETHER FLOUR, SALT AND BAKING POWDER. CREAM SUGAR AND MARGARINE. ADD EGGS. BEAT WELL. STIR IN KAHLUA THE FLOUR MIXTURE BLENDING WELL. FOLD IN CHOCOLATE CHIPS AND NUTS. SPREAD IN 7 X 11 PAN.
BAKE IN 350-DEGREE OVEN FOR 15 MINUTES. COOL THEN BRUSH TOP WITH 1 TBLSP KAHLUA.
SPREAD WITH BROWN SUGAR ICING AND PLACE HALF WALNUTS ON TOP.
BROWN SUGAR ICING:
MELT 2 TBLSP MARGARINE OVER LOW HEAT UNTIL BROWN. ADD 1 TBLSP KAHLUA, 2 TBLSP MILK. ADD 1 ½ CUPS POWDER SUGAR AND BEAT UNTIL SMOOTH.
