1 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
2 teaspoons Worcertershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salad seasoning (See NOTE below.)
1/4 teaspoon paprika
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (about 8 oz.)
8 slices bacon, crisply fried and crumbled
1/3 cup chopped peanuts
4 green onions, sliced (about 1/4 cup)
14 slices white bread
Recipe
Heat oven to 400F. Mix mayonnaise, Worcestershire
sauce, salad seasoning and paprika. Stir in cheese,
bacon, peanuts and onions. Spread about 3 tablespoons
bacon mixture over each slice of bread. Bake on
ungreased baking sheet 10 minutes. Cut each slice into
4 pieces. Serve hot.
Makes 56 appetizers.
NOTE: Salad seasoning is available in the spice
section of the supermarket. Every manufacturer makes a
different blend, but usually the seasoning is a
mixture of grated cheese, poppy seeds, chives, onion
powder, garlic powder. etc. Whatever combination you
find will work fine in this recipe.
