Graham Cracker Bars

List of Ingredients
- 30 graham crackers plus 1c. crumbs
- 1c. sugar
- 1/2c. Carnation milk (1 small can reserve 4T.)
- 1 stick butter
- 1 small can Angel Flake coconut or 1c.
- 1c. chopped nuts
- 1t. vanilla
- 1 egg, well beaten
- Butter Frosting:
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2 1/2c. confectioners sugar
- 4T. Carnation milk
- 1/2t. vanilla
- Cream butter;add confectioners sugar, Carnation milk and vanilla.
Instructions
- Line 9x13 inch pan with 15 crackers. Melt butter in pan;add sugar, milk, egg, and vanilla.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil and thickens.
- Remove from heat; add coconut, cracker crumbs, and nuts.
- Spread over graham crackers.
- Place other 15 crackers over filling.
- Top with Butter Frosting (spread over top.)
- Place in refrigerator overnight and cut into squares.
