    Grandma's Sunday Roast

    List of Ingredients


    • 3-4 lb. beef rump roast
    • 3 med. onions, quartered
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 1t. salt
    • 1t. pepper
    • 1t. garlic
    • 1c. water
    • 6 carrots, cut in half crosswise
    • 6 med. potatoes, quartered


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350.
    2. Place roast on rack in roasting pan.
    3. Add remaining ingredients except water, carrots, and potatoes.
    4. Pour water over roast.
    5. Cover, bake for 45 mins.
    6. Uncover, arrange carrots and potatoes around meat.
    7. Baste with pan juices.
    8. Cover, bake, basting occasionally for 60-70 mins. or until vegetables are fork tender and meat is done.
