    Perfect Steamed Rice

    1 T butter or margarine
    2 pounds long-grained raw rice
    10 cups hot tap water
    5 tsp. salt

    Rub interior of pot (bottom and sides) with butter. Pace rice,
    water and salt into pot. Cover.

    Place pot on electric base and steam rice at Setting #5 for 2 hours,
    or until all of water is absorbed. Stir after 1 hour. Keep warm
    for serving at Setting #2. Makes 10 cups.

    Note: For smaller amounts of rice, follow package directions for
    amount of water to add. One pound of rice will take about 1 1/2
    hours to steam at Setting #5. Use leftover rice for casseroles
    and puddings.
