    Slow-Simmered Spaghetti Sauce

    This sauce tastes every bit as good as ones cooked on the stovetop. You just don't have to stir it.


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 large onion, chopped
    • 4(14.5oz) cans Italian style tomatoes, undrained and chopped
    • 1(15oz) can tomato sauce
    • 1(12oz) can tomato paste
    • 2-3t. dried oregano
    • 1/2t. dried crushed red pepper
    • 2-3t. dried basil


    Instructions


    1. Combine all ingredients in a 4 qt. slow cooker.
    2. Cook, covered on high 6 hours.
    3. Serve over spaghetti, chicken, or pork.
    4. Yield: 2 1/2 qt.


    Final Comments


    You can freeze the spaghetti sauce in airtight containers for up to 2 weeks.
