    Favorite Recipes from Our Best Cooks Ketchikan, Alaska

    3 C flour
    2 C sugar
    1 tsp salt
    2 tsp soda
    2 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp nutmeg
    1/2 tsp cloves
    2 tbsp vinegar
    3/4 C oil
    2 C applesauce
    1 C raisins or dates
    nuts

    Sift first seven ingredients into a 9 x 13 inch pan. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes.
