Strawberry Pie II

1 quart strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
1 envelope gelatin
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 pie crust (9 inch), baked
1 banana
Mash 3 cups of the strawberries. Halve or slice remaining
strawberries; set aside. Strain crushed strawberries; add water
to juice to equal 1 cup liquid. Reserve crushed strawberries.
In a medium saucepan, stir together sugar and gelatin. Add the 1
cupliquid. Cook and stir over medium heat until gelatin and sugar
are dissolved. Stir in reserved crushed strawberries and lemon
juice. Transfer mixture to a mixing bowl. Chill till partially
set.
Pour half of the mixtureinto the pie shell. Thinly slice banana;
arrange in a single layer over strawberry mixture. Top with
remaining strawberry mixture. Arrange strawberry halves or slices
on top. Chill several hours or until firm.
