Campfire Stew

1-1/2 lbs. cubed stewing beef 1/4 cup flour salt and pepper to taste
1/3 cup oil 1 (1 lb 13 oz) can whole potatoes 1 ( 8-1/4 oz) can whole baby carrots
1 (8 oz) can green beans 2 (8 oz) can tomatoes sauces with onions 1/2 teasp. thyme
1 Coat beef with flour, salt and pepper; brown in heavy kettle in oil at medium temperature; drain fat. Drain and reserve liquid from potatoes, carrots and beans; add water to make 2 cups, add to meat. Stir in tomato sauce and thyme. Cover; simmer 1-3/4 hours. Add vegetables; simmer 15 minutes longer.
