List of Ingredients
- 3 lb. ground sirloin or ground round
- 1 stick butter
- 1 lb. lean ground pork
- 3 green bell peppers, chopped
- 3 onions, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4c. chili powder
- 2T. salt
- 1 12/ t. pepper
- 3t. cumin
- 1/2T. cayenne pepper
- 3(1lb ) cans tomatoes, chopped , include liquid
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the meat in butter. Pour off 1/2c. liquid from meat.
- Use it to saute peppers, onions, and garlic in a separate skillet until tender.
- Add to meat mixture and stir in chili powder, salt, pepper, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
- Add tomatoes. Simmer, covered, for 1 hour. Remove lid and simmer for at least 30 more minutes.
- Makes: 10 servings.
