Easy Caramel Frosting

1/2 C butter or margarine
1/4 C milk
1 C brown sugar, firmly packed
1-3/4 - 2 C powdered sugar, sifted
1 Melt butter or margarine; add brown sugar and cook over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add milk and continue to cook. Stir until mixture comes to a boil; remove from heat and cool. Add powdered sugar gradually until right consistency for spreading.
