1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup half-and-half
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cook brown sugar, half-and-half, butter and salt in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil (6 to 8 minutes). Cool slightly (15 to 20 minutes). Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla; beat until smooth.
Makes 1 1/2 cups.
