Sour Cream Velvet Frosting

1 6-ounce package semi-sweet chocolat pieces
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
2-1/2 to 2-3/4 cups sifted powdered sugar
1 In the top of a double boiler over simmering water, combine chocolate pieces and margarine. Place over boiling water to melt. Remove from heat. Add sour cream, vanilla and salt. Gradually beat in powdered sugar until frosting reaches spreading consistency; will frost a two-layer, 8 or 9-inch cake or a 9x13-inch loaf cake.
