Cheese Filled Salisbury Steak

- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4c. crushed crackers
- 1T. Worcestershire
- 1/4t. pepper
- 4 sticks cheese, 2x1 inch
- 10 1/2oz. can beef broth
- 1/2 broth can water
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1t. cornstarch
Instructions
- In medium bowl, mix lightly but thoroughly beef, crumbs, Worcestershire, and pepper.
- Shape into 4 patties. Enclose a cheese stick in each pattie, covering cheese completely and tightly.
- Brown patties in a little butter in skillet. In skillet with cover, bring broth and water to a boil.
- Add patties to skillet. Surround with onions. Cover. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
- Remove meat. Blend cornstarch with a small amount of cold water.
- Stir into skillet. Cook, stirring until thickened. Add meat and heat if necessary.
