Cleaning A BBQ Brush

What is the best way to clean a pastry brush after it has been used to apply barbecue sauce?
A: Our answer comes courtesy of Steven Raichlen, grilling guru and author of the award-winning books Barbecue! Bible and How to Grill (Workman). Steven says you should have a brush specifically dedicated to barbecue sauce, since so many sauces contain strong-flavored ingredients such as garlic and chiles that can linger even after the brush has been thoroughly cleaned. Through trial and error, Raichlen says he has found that the best way to clean a barbecue brush is to soak it overnight in a jar filled with warm soapy water, then run it through the dishwasher the next day. To keep mold from forming in the bristles, thoroughly air-dry the brush before storing.
