    Best flavor green corn has is to pick it when the dew is still on. Time was when wimmen'd pull off all but the inside layer of shucks, cut off silks and plunk the ears afore a hearth fire. This recipe is for roastin in a stove.

    Instructions


    1. Strip out shucks, clean silks and wash corn ears. Cut thin slices of bacon, ham or shoulder (hog meat) and put around corn.
    2. Some recipes say tie up the shuck ends to hold meat in place.
    3. Use a thick bakin pan and cook at a slow temper'ture fer around an hour.
    4. Let the one who's eatin take off the shucks.
