When we young uns got tired of sour kraut, Maw'd get out a jar of turnip kraut for a change. Here's the way she made hers:
List of Ingredients
- 1 gallon shredded turnips
- 1T. salt
Instructions
- Fill glass jar to 1/2 inch from brim with turnips and water, to which salt has been added.
- Screw top down hard, then make a slight turn back. Mixture will start working in 3 to 4 days.
- Keep in cool place 6 weeks before using.
