    2 lbs stew beef, cubed
    1 tablespoon oil
    1 clove garlic, cut in half
    2 1/2 cups water
    1/8 teaspoon thyme
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
    2 bay leaves
    1 (10 oz) box frozen peas
    2 onions, chopped
    2 carrots, sliced

    Recipe




    Heat cooker; add oil and brown beef cubes and garlic. Remove garlic
    and stir in water, thyme, salt, pepper and bay leaves. Close lid
    securely. Bring to pressure and cook for 20 minutes. Remove bay
    leaves and stir in veggies. For dumplings: Cut 1 tablespoon
    shortening into 1 1/2 cups biscuit mix until crumbly. Combine 2/3
    cup milk and 1 beaten egg; add to dry mixture. Stir until just
    blended. Drop by tablespoons on bubbling stew. Close lid securely
    and bring to pressure. Cook for 5 minutes. Serves 4.
