May Day Strawberry Punch

1 cup sugar 1 cup water 1/2 cup pineapple juice
1 teaspoon lemon juice 4 cups sliced strawberries 2 liters lemon-lime soda
1 In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water; heat almost to boiling, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Remove from heat; stir in the juices. Chill. In a blender, puree berries. Add to juice mixture; chill 30 minutes. Transfer to punch bowl; add soda. If desired, float additional strawberries on top.
