5 tsp (25mL) Mrs. Dash® Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend, divided
2 cups (480mL) long grain rice
1/2 cup (120mL) low sodium steak sauce
3 Tbsp. (45mL) unsalted butter
1/4 cup (60mL) finely chopped carrots
1/4 cup (60mL) finely chopped green pepper
1/4 cup (60mL) finely chopped onion
1/4 cup (60mL) finely chopped fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup (60mL) chopped water chestnuts
Recipe
1. Cook rice as directed on package omitting salt, reducing water by cup and adding 2 tsp (10mL) Mrs. Dash® Garlic & Herb to water.
2. Stir Steak Sauce into hot cooked rice; set aside.
3. Heat butter in large skillet.
4. Add carrots, green pepper and onion and cook until tender.
5. Stir in rice, mushrooms, water chestnuts and remaining 3 tsp(15mL) of Mrs. Dash® Garlic & Herb.
6. Cook over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally.
