List of Ingredients
- 4 large firm green tomatoes
- 1/2c. cornmeal
- 1t. salt
- 1/4t. pepper
- Bacon drippings or shortening
Instructions
- Cut tomatoes in 1/4 inch slices. Mix cornmeal with salt and pepper.
- Coat tomatoes with this mixture.
- Place in heavy skillet, containing hot bacon drippings or shortening.
- Fry slowly until brown, turning once.
- Yield: 6 servings
