- 4 qts. popped popcorn
- 1c. spanish peanuts
- 4T. butter
- 1c. brown sugar
- 1/2c. corn syrup lite
- 2T. molasses
- 1/4t. salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250.
- Combine popcorn and peanuts in a metal bowl or on cookie sheet and place in oven.
- Combine all remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Stirring over medium heat bring to a boil.
- Using a cooking thermometer bring to hard boil stage. This will take about 20-25 minutes.
- Remove from oven and working very quickly pour caramel mixture in a fine stream over them.
- Then place back in oven for 15 minutes. Mix well every 5 minutes. Cool and store in covered container.
