2 1/2 cups ketchup
1 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
3 tbsp. bottled worcestershire sauce
3 tbsp. cider vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
Recipe
Combine all ingredients in medium saucepan, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Use immediately or let cool; cover and chill up to 3 days.
I use red onions when I have them, simply because my family prefers them. I also saute the onions before adding them to the sauce.
