Five-Flavored Kebabs

14 ounces beef tenderloin
7 ounces lean slab bacon with the rind removed
4 slightly under-ripe small tomatoes, halved
2 small onions, quartered lengthwise
8 large stuffed green olives
Olive oil
Salt and pepper
Salt the cut sides of the tomatoes and let them drain, cut sides down. Cut the beef into 8 cubes and the bacon into 8 small blocks.
Thread the ingredients onto 4 skewers in the following order: tomato, bacon, onion, beef, olive, bacon, onion, beef, olive, tomato.
Brush the kebabs with oil, and cook for about 8 minutes on a hot grill rack, turning them halfway through the cooking time. Season them with salt and pepper and serve at once.
