    Pacific Rim Pork Top Round Steak

    2 boneless pork top round steaks, cut 1/2-inch thick, about 1 pound total
    1/2 cup soy sauce
    1/4 cup sherry
    3 tablespoons sugar
    1 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
    1 garlic clove, crushed
    1 tablespoon sesame oil
    1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

    In shallow dish stir together soy sauce, Sherry, sugar, ginger, garlic, sesame oil and red pepper; stir to dissolve sugar. Place steaks in dish, turning to coat. Meanwhile, prepare medium-hot fire in kettle-style grill. Remove steaks from marinade, discarding marinade, and grill directly over fire, turning once, for a total of 8-10 minutes. Serve with sautéed peapods, warmed flour tortillas and a grated carrot salad. Serves four.
