Cognac-Champagne Punch

1½ cups bar syrup*
3 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice
3 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
1½ cups Curaçao (orange colored)
¼ cup Grenadine
1 bottle cognac (do not use domestic brandy)
2 bottles dry champagne Recipe
Mix all ingredients and pour over large ice chunks in a punch bowl.
Bar syrup:
Mix 3 cups sugar and 1 cup water; bring to boil and boil 5 minutes.
This makes about 18 eight-ounce cups -- enough for 30-35 servings
