List of Ingredients
Makes 1 loaf
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 1/4 cup sugar, divided
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup sour cream
2 tsp. cinnamon, ground
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt till well combined.
Beat 1 cup sugar and butter till light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, and add vanilla till well blended. Beat in flour and sour cream alternately, beginning and ending with flour.
Combine the 1/4 cup sugar and the cinnamon. Spoon about 1/3 of the batter into a greased 9 by 5 inch loaf pan. Sprinkle with 1/3 of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Repeat twice more with both the dough and the cinnamon mixture--using all of the dough and the cinnamon mix. Place pecans in top of loaf, pressing in gently with fingers.
Bake 50 to 55 minutes or till done. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove and cool on wire rack.
