    Part #1
    1/2 cup chopped pecans
    1/2 cup chopped dates
    2/3 cup dark raisins
    1/2 cup flaked coconut
    1/3 cup all-purpose flour

    Part#2
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 cup shortening
    1 teaspoon light corn syrup
    1 cup milk
    2 eggs
    1 cup canned pumpkin

    Recipe



    In a medium bowl, mix together ingredients for part 1. Set aside. In a large bowl combine 2 cups flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add shortinging, corn syrup and milk. Beat 2 minutes, then add eggs. Mix well. Add date mixture and mix until combined.

    Pour into two greased 8x4-inch bread pans. Sprinkle each with 1 teaspoon sugar (if desired) and garnish tops with pecan halves.

    Bake in a preheated 350 degree F. oven for approximately 55 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
