    3 slices white bread, cubed
    3 slices whole wheat bread, cubed
    1 pound sausage, saut�ed with 1 tsp. Fennel or anise, drained
    1 1/2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
    6 eggs
    2 3/4 cups milk
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    1/4 tsp. Oregano, crushed
    1/4 tsp. Basil, crushed
    1/4 tsp. Salt
    1/8 tsp. Pepper
    Grease six small ramekin dishes with cooking spray. Fill each dish 1/2 full with cubed bread. Divide the sausage evenly between the ramekin dishes. Cover with cheese and remaining bread cubes. Lightly beat eggs, add milk and remaining ingredients. Mix well and pour into ramekin dishes, filling almost to the top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
    Serves 6
