    If sour pie cherries are used the liquor will be pale pink, if the dark sweet cherries are used it will be a beautiful burgundy color. Do not remove stones or stems from cherries. A large glass bottle should be used, and the opening of the bottle should be large enough to allow the cherries to be put in without crushing them. After equal parts of gin, cherries and sugar are put in the bottle, seal, lay bottle on its side, turn over every day until sugar dissolves, then put in a dark place. Liqueur will be ready about Thanksgiving if made in June.
