    1 Tablespoon sugar syrup
    Juice of medium-sized lemon or lime
    1-1/2 jiggers gin
    Carbonated water

    Combine sugar syrup, lemon or lime juice, and gin in a bar glass. Shake well with 1/2 cup crushed ice and strain into a chilled 8-ounce glass. Fill glass with carbonated water. Stir and serve.
