Tropical Fruit Rum Slush

2 cups sugar
3 cups water
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 (12-oz.) can frozen tropical fruit drink with guava concentrate, thawed
3 cups pineapple juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 (1-liter) bottle rum
3 (1-liter) bottles lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage, chilled
Recipe
In large saucepan, combine sugar and water. 'Bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes. Cool.
In large nonmetal container, combine bananas, fruit drink concentrate, pineapple Juice, lemon juice, rum and sugar mixture; mix well. Freeze at least 8 hours or overnight.
Twenty to 30 minutes before serving, remove frozen mixture from freezer; let stand at room temperature.
For each serving, spoon 1/2 cup slush mixture into glass. Add 1/2 cup carbonated beverage; stir gently.
Serve immediately.
