    2 cups flour
    1 Tablespoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/3 cup butter
    1/2 cup milk
    1/3 cup jam or dried fruit of your choice
    1 teaspoon pure almond extract
    1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
    2 teaspoons white sugar

    Frosting:
    1 cup confectioner's sugar
    1 Tablespoon milk (more if needed to thin)
    1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract

    Recipe



    Mix together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter, milk, jam or dried fruit, and 1 teaspoon almond extract. Lightly knead dough on floured surface and pat into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Combine cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle scones with mixture. Bake at 450 degrees for 7 to 10 minutes (do not over-bake).

    Combine frosting ingredients and frost scones while they are warm.
