1 Zest of Orange
4 tablespoon Orange Juice
0.5 Cup Currants
0.25 Cup Butter
0.25 Cup Pecan Pieces, Chopped
3 Cup Flour
5 Tablespoon Sugar
1 Tablespoon Baking powder
1 Cup Buttermilk
1 Egg Yolk
1 Tablespoon Milk
Recipe
Plump currants in orange juice. Sift dry ingredients. Add orange juice and currants and other liquid ingredients to the sifted material. Turn dough on floured surface and cut into fist-sized pieces. Bake at 400 degrees and brush with egg yolk and milk. Top with pecans.
