    List of Ingredients

    1 package dried yeast
    1/4 cup lukewarm milk
    1 Tablespoon sugar
    3/4 cup scalded milk
    1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
    2 Tablespoons salt
    3-1/2 cups flour

In a small bowl, proof 1 package of yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm milk with 1 Tablespoon sugar for 10 minutes. In a bowl, combine 3/4 cup scalded milk with 1 stick of butter. Stir mix until the butter is melted. Add yeast mix and 2 Tablespoons salt. Beat in 3-1/2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup at a time, to form a soft dough. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 10 minutes. Form the dough into a ball. Put in a buttered bowl and let rise 1-1/2 hours or until double. Punch down and divide into 12 pieces. Pat each piece into a 3-inch round. Put on buttered baking sheet. Let rise 40 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until well browned. Serve warm.
