1 1/2 c. plus 3 T. flour
1 T. baking powder
1 T. sugar
1/2 t. salt

Mix together with a whisk.

4 T. butter
4 T. Crisco

Cut in with the flour as you would for pie crust until like small "pebbles."

1/2 c. milk

Add last and mix quickly. Knead gently a couple of times and pat out to 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter and put into a square ungreased tin. Get into a preheated oven (350) within 2 minutes. (May brush with cream and pierce with a fork if desired.) Bake for 14-15 minutes.
