    1 box bran buds
    2 cups boiling water
    3 cups sugar
    4 eggs, beaten
    1 cup oil
    5 cups flour
    1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
    1-1/2 Tablespoons baking soda
    2 teaspoons salt
    1 Tablespoon grated orange peel
    2 cups raisins
    4 cups buttermilk
    Cinnamon and sugar

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a very large bowl, mix bran buds and water and let stand for 10 minutes. Mix together sugar, eggs, and oil; add the bran buds. Mix together flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, orange peel and raisins. Add to bran mixture alternately with buttermilk until well mixed.

    Spoon batter into muffin tins for number desired, sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until tester comes out clean. Serve with honey or apple butter. Makes about forty muffins. However, if kept in a covered container in the refrigerator, the batter can be spooned up anytime you are in the mood for a healthy treat. Allow fifteen minutes for refrigerated batter.
