    1 pkg. or 1 T. active dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 c. milk
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    4 eggs beaten
    5 1/2 c. flour

    Recipe



    Soften yeast in water.Scald milk and stir in sugar, butter and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in beaten eggs and yeast mixture into milk mixture, then beat in 2 c. flour. Knead in remaining flour to make a smooth easily handled dough. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 1/2 hours. Punch down, cover and let rest 10 min. Divide dough in half; shape into round loaf and place in greased cake pan. Cover and let rise until almost doubled in bulk. Bake in preheated oven (350) for 35 to 40 min. or until done.
